The CLA Charitable Trust was founded by CLA members in 1980 to help disabled people in England and Wales. Its objects are threefold:

• To encourage education about the countryside for those who are disabled or disadvantaged, particularly youngsters from urban areas

• To provide facilities for those with disabilities to have access to recreation in the countryside

• To promote education in agriculture, horticulture and conservation for those who are disabled or disadvantaged.

The Charitable Trust achieves its objectives through grants and advice to those who wish to provide such facilities. To date, the Trust has awarded grants well in excess of £1 million.
