The CLA Charitable Trust helps those who are disabled or with learning difficulties to enjoy and learn about the countryside in England and Wales. The Trust focuses on education, recreation and country sports. It achieves its aims by:

Promoting education in the countryside for disadvantaged and city children and young people

£ Sponsorship of farm visits by primary school children

£ New fencing at a city farm

£ Trees for an environmental project undertaken by inner city teenagers

£ A pond dipping platform and waymarkers for a country trail at a school for children with severe physical disabilities

Supporting horticultural and agricultural training for disabled and mentally handicapped people

£ Sponsorship of drystone walling courses for the blind and wheelchair-bound

£ Equipment for a horticultural project run by people with learning difficulties

Giving grants towards the provision of suitable facilities

£ Provision of specialist equipment for the disabled at a holiday cottage

£ Up-grade of footpaths and gates for wheelchairs along a coastal path

£ A wheelchair hoist for a canal boat

£ Fishing pegs for disabled anglers

 

£ Part-funding for a rider's hoist at a riding for the disabled centre

£ Sponsorship of a disabled carriage driving competition

£ Purchase of an outboard motor for the rescue boat at a disabled sailing centre
